You cannot bend a Sara Duterte and neither can you diminish the trust and confidence of the more than 32-million Filipinos who put her into the office of the Vice President, the designated survivor.

Her accusers that are made up of the lapdogs of Malacanang Palace and the insatiable members of the House of Representatives who think they are models of values of honesty and integrity.

The sole agenda of the political mafia however is to to get rid of Sara from the 2028 presidential race.

They accuse VP Sara of misuse of ₱612-million confidential and intelligence funds which include the ₱125-million from the Office of the President and transferred to the Office of the Vice President but myopic on the trillion of pesos kickbacks from the hundreds of ghost flood control projects which they lavishly partook.

Malacanang think of delivering a coup de grâce, they install first a character who will do their bidding in the Anti Money Laundering Council. He was described as a genius in many facets of banking and finance. What he did however is something in direct contravention to his credentials. He appeared before the Committee on Justice with the records of bank transactions of Sara and hubby Mans from the time she entered politics in 2007 as Vice Mayor of Davao City up to her incumbent position as Vice President of the Philippines.

The AMLC head Ronel Buenaventura proceeded to add all banking transactions, deposits and withdrawals, reflected in the couple’s deposits and extrapolated these to include some 29 ₱1.00 odd entries. He then reported that the couple has ₱6.7-billion worth of transactions. He did not even bother to isolate the transactions prior to 2022 when Sara was not yet Vice President and therefore ought to be excluded from impeachable offense.

If I were to apply the trick of Buenaventura to my own bank deposits and transactions in my monthly pension for 41 years, which could hardly address my maintenance medicines, I would emerge to be a filthy multi-millionaire!

Based on AMLC’s mathematics plus the fairy tales of a detained head of kidnap-for-ransom syndicate and Antonio Trillanes rehashed charges against the Dutertes the Committee on Justice, as expected, voted to impeach Vice President Sara. This will however be taken up in the plenary where 106 votes are needed to elevate the articles of impeachment to the Senate acting as the impeachment court.

It is in the Senate where the real legal battle will take place. All the propaganda chaffs presented as actionable evidence will be cast to the garbage bin. It will be interesting to see how Madriaga, Trillanes and Buenaventura respond to unrehearsed questions.

Abangan!
