“If elections is going to be held today, I am certain that Edwin Jubahib will definitely be defeated by Congressman Alan Dujali”. This is the declaration of Rep. Pantaleon ‘Bebot” Alvarez who added that he is willing to bet against anyone who thinks otherwise.

This is the second time Alvarez came out in public to warn against voting for Gov. Edwin Jubahib his erstwhile Chief of Staff whom he endorsed twice for governor in Davao del Norte.

Last week Alvarez came out on online video to apologize to Davao del Norte electorates for his role in getting Jubahib elected. He said that from the very start he knew Jubahib is not fit to become governor for he has no experience at all even as barangay kagawad. From being a conductor of Bachelor Bus he went straight to become a governor, Alvarez said.

The incumbent 1st District congressman of Davao del Norte proceeded to comprehend the personality and ability ofthe two political figures in the province. He said that his fellow congressman Alan Dujali has so many projects for his District and the province. “He has a political bastion and a name (Dujali) that everyone knows. Alan Dujali is a decent man”, Alvarez said.

Alvarez on the other hand described Gov. Edwin Jubahib as incompetent and has done nothing for the province. Instead, he said, the governor faced several charges which resulted to his suspension. “He thought that when he was elected as governor he already owned the provincial capitol.

Alvarez, who is running for Vice Governor, revealed that when Jubahib was suspended the first time, he went to the Office of the Ombudsman to check if there were other complaints filed against Jubahib. He thought at that time he might be able to help the governor.

What he saw stunned him to the point that he almost collapsed, he claimed. He said he disvovered not only one or two complaints but over two dozens.

Like the first time he talked to media, Alvarez expressed remorse and apologized anew for endorsing and supporting his former chief of staff. He said he committed a mistake twice and he will not allow it to happen the third time.

Jubahib, before the filing of Certificates of Candidacy, left Partido Reporma where he and Alvarez were the top officials and joined Partido Federal ng Pilipinas of President Marcos. The governor was up for re-election while Alvarez had made known his plan earlier to run for Vice Governor. Jubahib filed his COC for governor with his daughter Clarise for Vice Governor under PFP.

Alvarez who is about to conclude his term as congressman of the 1st District of Davao del Norte knew first hand why Jubahib third attempt to be governor of the province is doomed. He knew that Jubahib has no bastion or political turf. Mayor Rey Uy is back as Mayor of Tagum City which has the biggest number of registered voters than those of Asuncion, Kapalong, New Corella, Talaingod, ug San Isidro combined.
