* Clean sweep in Davao City

* Electoral upsets in Davao de Oro and Davao del Norte provinces

By Ivy Tejano

Davao City – It is a clean sweep for Hugpong sa Tawong Lungsod and PDP members in the just concluded midterm elections in this southern capital city with 1,007,794 registered voters. Former President Rodrigo R. Duterte won by a landslide.

The events that happened and the triumph that followed were unprecedented in the annals of Philippines elections. Duterte, a Filipino and former president, according to Sen. Imee Marcos, was unlawfully arrested, flown to the Netherlands and detained. Physically absent during the entire election season, the electorates gave him another overwhelming mandate to be City Mayor of Davao and elected five pro-Duterte senatorial candidates.

Here are the new set of government officials proclaimed in Davao Region
