In the same area where we are breeding and fattening Wagyus, Arnel Corpuz and I have started another experiment, fattening of Buffalo Bull Calves.
We were able to acquire 13 Bull Calves from the BUKTAMACO Dairy Farm in Malaybalay, Bukidnon last week.
Dairy Farms actually have no use for Bull Calves and during my visit to BUKTAMACO Dairy Farm, a project of the Tagoloanon Manobo Tribe, I asked Atty. Burt Estrada, the coop chairman, if I could buy them.
The Bull Calves were weighed when they came in and they will be given feeds initially which will expand the body frame.
After that, they will be given Sorghum Silage and feed mix which will help them grow meat.
When they reach maturity, we will check the quality of Buffalos raised in paddocks with proper feeding.
