COA’s report a vindication of VP Sara (Editorial by Jun Ledesma)

THe Commission on Audit strongly maintsined its independence it just not only give the Office of the Vice President (OVP) a passing mark—it gave it a clear and straightforward certification of financial integrity. This simply means thst every single centavo that passed through the OVP was accounted for, judiciously expended, and properly allocated. It also means that Sara Duterte did not steal, did not mismanage the funds that were allocated to her office.

The Commission on Audit findings argue against the incessant and baselesd accusations against her by the attack dogs of House Speaker Martin Romualdez and a retinue of Manila-based publication, opinion writers and broadcast establishments. Vice President Sara Duterte had proven beyond doubt that she run her office with honesty, efficiency, and fiscal responsibility.

The COA report is also an exculpation of the officials and staff of the Vice President’s Office who had been pilloried and detained by the kangaroo court in the Lower House. The public perception of the integrity and trustworthiness of the Vice President is not only affirmed by the COA report, it is reaffirmed by the recent survey done by Publicus Asia which shows VP Sara Duterte having the highest approval and trust ratings.
