- Says results are fabricated
OCTA Research has issued a public advisory categorically denying doing a survey results which showed former President Rodrigo Duterte and his son, the incumbent Davao City Mayor Sebastian, both gunning for the city’s top two positions in May midterm elections, “vastly trailing behind rivals ex-cabinet secretary Karlo Nograles and councilor Bernard Al-Ag”.
“It’s a fake survey”, Octa Research President Ranjit Rye, declared. “We hope it won’t be shared”, he added.
The fabricated survey which have been drummed up by Nograles phalanx of propagandists showed Nograles garnering 71% way ahead of FPRRD who scored only 29%. In the same survey, Al-ag had 80% against Baste Duterte with 20 percentage points.
OCTA Research is a private polling, research, and consultation firm based in in Quezon City. The firm made an impact on the public when it came up with advisories relating to Covid statistics and other advisories at the height of the pandemic.
Its President Rye condemned the parties behind the fake survey results which he said is falsely attributed to OCTA Research.
The fabricated survey did not only name OCTA Research as the source of the results it also included the firm’s logo and fabricated graphic showing the named of mayoral aspirants and Vice mayor bets for Davao City.
Aside from the fake survey attributed to OCTA Research the Nograles camp also made an issue of a fake Tom Tom Traffic Index report showing Davao City with the most congested traffic in the Philippines and No. 8 in the world. The picture which accompanied the report however is actually taken from Guadalupe Bridge that links Makati City and Mandaluyong City at EDSA.
Aside from the fake OCTA Research survey, two other local surveys were done in Davao the results therefrom are diametrically opposite that of the fake OCTA results.
