DAVAO CITY – A flea-market pop-up event titled “The Debut” gathered over 50 local entrepreneurs and community members at the Three Yards along Casiana Villa-Abrille Street on the weekend, promoting meaningful shopping while supporting a charitable cause.

Held from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on October 25 and 26, the event featured 54 local brands and vendors from Davao and nearby areas offering food, accessories, and apparel. Visitors also enjoyed interactive activities such as a photo booth, live portrait sessions, and tarot reading.

The Debu, organized by Cura Merca, was described as a “market for a cause,” designed to connect local commerce with community purpose.

Purchases made during the event benefited small local businesses and Project FED, which received 50 percent of the market’s profits. The remainder was allocated to the organizers to help fund future flea-market runs.

Cura Merca said the event aimed to provide a “breather” market amid the Halloween season — referred to as the “spooky szn” — by offering an engaging space for Davaoeños to unwind, shop, and connect.

“Our goal was to give local brands a platform to shine while fostering a sense of community and purpose,” the organizers shared. “We wanted people to see that shopping can be fun and impactful.”

Combining lifestyle, creativity, and social impact, The Debut highlighted Davao’s growing support for homegrown entrepreneurs and community-driven initiatives.
