San Pedro SSS branch in Davao City in full swing

The Social Security System in Davao City has opened up a new branch and Service Centers to cater to of members and hundreds of pensioners that make various transactions with SSS.

Tuesday last week the old SSS branch at Gaisano Ilustre St. that was transferred to San Pedro at Oakwood Pines Acreage Building was formally inaugurated. Branch Manager Maren Eeman W. Estrella said that they were in dry ran operation since early August. The branch is amply equipped with computers to allow members, which do not have access to the internet in their homes, to personally process their transactions. Members who are not computer literate are ably assisted by staff members in various stages of their transactions like online registration .

Before the opening of the San Pedro Branch, members go to the four-storey regional SSS building in Bajada, Ilustre and branches in Toril and Talomo. Of late however on account of space and accessibility constraints in Gaisano Ilustre, the branch operations was relocated to San Pedro.

Last Tuesday afternoon a new SSS Service Center located in NCCC Bajada and under supervision of Bajada Branch was also inaugurated.

Acting CEO-II Chris David Lao bared that the San Pedro Branch will open early next year a new Service Center in Matina.

Branch Manager Estrella explained that they want to bring SSS closer to members and pensioners for safety and accessibility. “We now have bigger space and satellite centers to cater to them”, she said.

Jan Michael Gatal, the branch Account Officer revealed that the branch hit double-digit increases in collection with the increasing number of clients. The San Pedro Branch had a dramatic increase of walk-in clients from 400 to 560 on daily average and 1,800 transactions daily. It services 28 barangays covering 7,100 employers with an estimated 400-thousands members and beneficiaries.
