By this time the decisions on who to vote for has been made. Electorates will troop to the voting precincts and the counting will start promptly thereafter. It is a point of no return.
The outcome of this midterm elections will determine where our country is leading to. It is not only for the next three crucial years but for the next six years thereafter. The 2028 Presidential Elections will be defined by the victors of this midterm elections and the future is in the hands of todays electorates.
There are political givens which the nation is fully aware of unless unexpected interventions will come in the way. After the Marcos administration the people will choose in 2028 a new leader that will stir the country either on the same direction or alter the course where we are situated today.
The choice is between Speaker Martin Romualdez, the president’s first cousin, and Vice President Sara Duterte. Romualdez will likely pursue Marcos policies since both had been plotting the present government agenda from day one. Sara Duterte on the other hand is expected to veer away from the course of the present administration.
But let us not overlook the next exigent thing in this election. The counting of the votes is a vital process and must be guarded closely by the party’s watchers. We had been warned by the experts and any shenanigans must be promptly addressed.
