Goat farmers who would like to improve the body and meat quality of their herd could join the COLIPAA Cooperative “Toro ng Bayan” Program Orientation on Saturday, Jan. 31, at the Mindanao Small Ruminants Nucleus Farm in Makilala, North Cotabato.

Dr. Roland Fajardo, DVM, will conduct a briefing for Goat Farmers from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the MSRNF in San Nicolas, Sinkatulan (formerly Firestone Rubber Company Compound).

Under the program, goat farmers could bring in their does to the breeding paddocks where they will be exposed to the Spanish Longhorn Bucks for one month or one estrus cycle.

They will be asked to pay for the Buck Service and “Board and lodging” for one month.

Spanish Goats are believed to be genetically related to the Philippine Native Goats.

They are larger with Outstanding meat quality just like the native goats.

Attendance in Saturday’s Forum is free and snacks will be served.
