* Sen. Bong Go top choice for VP- Despite the unrelenting tirades sgainst her and pending impeachment trial Vice President Sara Duterte captured the top slot in the 2028 Presidential Preferential survey.
The non-commissioned straw poll was conducted last June 20 to 22 by research firm Tangere showing VP Sara leading the nine possible presidential bets which include former Vice President Leni Robredo, Speaker Martin Romualdez, , Senate President Chiz Escudero, Senators Risa Hontiveros, Bong Go, Raffy Tulfo, Imee Marcos, Robin Padilla and VP Sara Duterte.
The survey, which was done amidst the magma of derogatory propaganda against the Vice President, indicated that she gained more sympathisers instead as she gained six percentage points from Tangere’s last survey. Sara obtained 35% towering above Leni who came next with 19%.
Bong Go’s top performance in the senate race is repeated anew by placing 3rd in the Presidential Preference. Respondents however gave him a strong approval for Vice President with 38 percent. Trailing behind is Bam Aquino with 22%.
Perceived to be running for President in 2028 and had invested heavily to win votes, Speaker Romualdez scored only a dismal 6%. But he is not alone where he is. Senators Hontiveros, Escudero, Padilla, Tulfo and Imee are practically not in contention.
Vice President Sara mustered strong support from Mindanao, Metro Manila, Calabarzon and the Bicol Region.
