Hundreds of volunteers gathered for a major blood donation drive organized by the World Mission Society Church of God, as part of its global humanitarian campaign, the “Worldwide Passover Love, Life Love Blood Drive Relay.”
The event, marking the 1,885th leg of the worldwide initiative, was held on April 26, 2026 at the first floor of Gaisano Grand Citygate Mall, drawing around 450 participants composed of church members, local residents, and DCPO volunteer donors. Of these, 179 successfully donated blood, contributing to life-saving efforts in the community.

The program opened with remarks from Pastor Jacob Kim, head of the Church of God Mindanao Association. Messages of support were also delivered by Davao City Police Office representative Police Colonel Peter B. Madria, Bureau of Fire Protection Regional Director FSSUPT Conrado M. Balmores Jr., Medical Officer IV Dr. Floyd Cedrick Balansag, and Councilor Danilo Dayanghirang, who all encouraged the public to take part in life-saving efforts through blood donation.
Organizers said the campaign promotes a culture of life-sharing and compassion, extending across countries such as South Korea, the United States, Peru, Germany, and Kenya since it began in 2005.
Church officials emphasized that the initiative is inspired by the meaning of the Passover, highlighting sacrifice, love, and service to others. Participants lined up early to donate blood, with health workers ensuring proper screening and safety protocols throughout the activity.
Beyond blood donation drives, the Church of God continues to lead community service initiatives across the Philippines, including environmental clean-ups and tree-planting activities, earning recognition from various government agencies and local officials over the years.
Today’s event in Davao City forms part of the organization’s continuing mission to provide humanitarian support while strengthening community solidarity.
