For the country’s 5-million diabetics and millions more of health buffs, the Gluten-Free, Low-Glycemic Index Adlai will soon be delivered to their doorsteps monthly in a special box which would contain 30-day supply of Adlai breakfast cereals and 1 kilo of milled grains when they join the Adlai Health Food Membership Club which is now being established.
As I continue to devise ways to link the Tribal Farmers of Mindanao who produce Adlai and the millions of diabetics and health buffs who are searching for regular supply, I met yesterday with Razel Suy-Tan and her husband, Teddy, in the Out of Nowhere Restaurant which the family owns in SM Ecoland in Davao City.
The Tan couple also owns the Golden Flavour Food Inc., a food processing and export company, which has agreed to handle the marketing of the Adlai-In-A-Box.
During the meeting yesterday, attended by known Food Technician Ricardo Ilustre and his wife, it was agreed that the Adlai-In-A-Box which will be shipped monthly to the Adlai Health Food Club Members will contain 30 Breakfast Cereal packs and 1 kilo of milled Adlai.
The members will also have an option of adding to their monthly Adlai-In-A-Box supply other Adlai processed products like the Power Bar or the Adlai Chips.
The costing is now being finalized but during the meeting yesterday, it was agreed that it should be made affordable because many of those who suffer from diabetes belong to poor or average families.
Razel and Teddy also agreed to my request that part of whatever profit their company would get from the marketing of the Adlai-In-A-Box should be allocated for a Trust Fund to finance the education of the children of the Tribal Farmers who produce Adlai.
On June 28, during the 1st Mindanao Adlai Production Forum which will be held at the Central Mindanao Mission of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Valencia City, a sample of the Adlai-In-A-Box will be presented by Razel and Teddy.
In the meantime, the Adlai Health Food Membership Club website is now being developed by an IT staff supporting my Food Security Advocacy.
