Manny Piñol

Barely a week after a municipal consultation in Caraga, Davao Oriental, the concept of a Community-Owned and LGU-Led Cattle Production Program has taken shape.

Yesterday, the Bakahan ng Bayan Program was presented to the Land Bank Corporate Office in Davao City for funding support.

Under this program, the LGU will establish a Cattle Feedlot where all the Cattle owned by farmers and other residents in the community will be kept, bred and fattened.

The LGU will also acquire tractors and forage harvesters to support farmers in planting Corn or Sorghum for Cattle Feeds.

Local products like Rice Bran, Copra Meal and even Seashells will also be used for Cattle Feed Mix.

Our Advocacy Team will provide technical support and will support the farmers until they are ready to take care of their own Cattle.

Marketing will also be another area where our Advocacy Team will be involved.

Caraga Mayor Ronie Osnan delegated Municipal Agriculturist Jane Cruz to attend the briefing.
