Indicting Vice President Sara Duterte on the basis of charges conjured by the QuadCom is challenging the Fates and may led to a cathastrophic end.
The impeachment proceedings that followed the QuadCom interrogation were never in aid of legislation but to remove the remaining obstacle that hinders the political agenda of Speaker Martin Romualdez and for the resuscitation of the moribund Communist Party of the Philippines and its armed band – New People’s Army.
The House leadership and the CPP/NPA have come together in an unholy alliance to impeach the Vice President. The forgot that Sara Duterte was elected into office by 32-million Filipinos and whose father, the former President Rodrigo Duterte who is still held high with unprecedented esteem and admiration even in his almost three years in retirement.
The QuadCom proceedings were at best comedic and atrocious. The most rabid inquisitors are from the Makabayan Partylist Representatives, one a convict, another a Commander of the Alex Boncayal Brigade, the dreaded urban assassination unit of the CPP/NPA terrorists. Never mind the juvenile adult among them and some who speak with forked tongue.
If VP Sara were to be removed from office on the basis of what QuadCom claimed was questionable disbursements of ₱125-million Confidential Intelligence Fund, then how will they make out of the billions of CIF of Pres. Bongbong Marcos and the scandalous issue of ₱1.8-billion travel fund of the House Speaker which led to the suspension of the franchise of SMNI Network? What of the other government agencies with billions of pesos for CIF? What about the ₱1.3-trillions for the 5,499 flood control project and other massive irregularities that the docile press refused to publish and broadcast.
One can write volumes on the massive corruptions in the government bureaucracy. VP Sara is alone fighting the mafia that is in control of the syndicate. The nation is watching. In the concluding chapter of these crippling and tragic events that bedevil our country, we might read not a few paragraphs written in blood. It might however be our salvation.
