PBBM’s Satisfaction Rating drops to ‘Poor’

    * Net score plummets to Negative 11 (-11%)

    *  Metro Manilans most dissatistied at -27%

DAVAO CITY – President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s net satisfaction rating fell to the “poor” category in the third quarter of 2026, down from “neutral” in the previous quarter, according to a Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey.

The survey, conducted from September 21 to 27, 2026, found that  only 35% of adult Filipinos were satisfied with Marcos’ performance as President, while 46% were dissatisfied and 20% were undecided.

These figures put his net satisfaction rating at -11, which SWS classifies as “poor,” a category that covers ratings from -10 to -29.

SWS said the result was four points lower than the -7 rating recorded in June 2026. However, it remained above Marcos’ personal record-low rating of -15 in March 2026.

The proportion of respondents satisfied with the President declined from 38% in June to 35% in September. 

Meanwhile, the share of undecided respondents increased from 17% to 20%, while dissatisfaction rose slightly from 45% to 46%.

By region, Luzon recorded the highest net satisfaction rating at zero, classified as “neutral.” The Visayas followed at -13, Mindanao at -21, and Metro Manila at -27, all classified as “poor.”

Compared with the June survey, Marcos’ rating in Balance Luzon dropped 11 points from +11, previously classified as “moderate.” 

In the Visayas, the rating declined 10 points from -3, which was classified as “neutral” in June. Metro Manila recorded a three-point decrease from -24.

Mindanao, meanwhile, posted a 14-point improvement from -35, previously classified as “bad.”

The survey also showed contrasting results between urban and rural areas. Marcos’ net satisfaction rating in urban areas fell eight points, from -12 to -20, remaining within the “poor” category. 

In rural areas, his rating improved by three points, from -2 to +1, keeping it in the “neutral” range.

The SWS survey also measured public awareness of Marcos’ State of the Nation Address (SONA), delivered on July 27, 2026.

Of the adult Filipinos surveyed, 47% said they had heard or read about the President’s address, while 53% said they had not.

Respondents who were aware of the SONA were also asked to assess the believability of Marcos’ statements and promises. 

Thirteen percent said his promises were believable, while 15% considered them entirely unbelievable.

Another 13% said his promises were more believable than unbelievable, while 37% considered them equally believable and unbelievable. 

Meanwhile, 22% said they were more unbelievable than believable.

Taken together, 26% of respondents viewed Marcos’ statements as either believable or more believable than unbelievable, while 37% considered them equally believable and unbelievable. 

A further 37% viewed them as either entirely unbelievable or more unbelievable than believable.

The President’s net believability rating stood at -11, down eight points from -3 recorded in September 2025.

The survey had a margin of error of ±3 percentage points for national results, ±4 points for Balance Luzon, and ±6 points each for Metro Manila, the Visayas, and Mindanao.
