For the first time in my political career, I am backed by the big political families and leaders of our province, North Cotabato, in my bid to win the post I held for 9 years from 1998 to 2007, the Governorship.
In previous elections, we belonged to different parties but kept our friendship and did not consider each other as “enemies.”
Yesterday, we gathered over simple lunch in Hridaya, a restaurant owned by former Congresswoman and Governor Nancy Catamco.
We all agreed to unite to liberate our people from the childish and divisive politics which discriminate perceived non-supporters in the distribution of assistance, including “Ayuda,” medical and other services.
We also agreed to end the oppressive requirement that poor people must “Like” and “Share” Facebook posts of the Provincial leadership before they could be given assistance.
The Sacdalan Patriarch, Mayor Susing Sacdalan of Alamada who was also Governor and Congressman, came with his son, Incumbent 1st District Cong. Joel Sacdalan.
Former Kidapawan City Mayor Joseph Evangelista, now a Board Member, and his son, Kidapawan City Mayor Paolo Evangelista, came to pledge their all-out support.
Former Gov. Catamco, who was in Manila, joined the gathering through digital communications.
My younger brother, Efren, the incumbent Vice Governor and my eldest daughter, Board Member Doc Krista Piñol-Solis and key leaders of the group were also present.
There were other big political families who were not with us yesterday but who also pledged to support our vision of turning North Cotabato into a model Agricultural Province in the country.
