Inflation Is Rising—But Are Our Leaders Even Paying Attention? (THE THIRD EYE by Carlo Manubag)

A surge from 4.1% to 7.2% inflation in just a month is not a routine fluctuation—it’s a warning siren.

For Filipino families, this isn’t about percentages on paper. This is about shrinking grocery bags, higher fares, and the quiet dread of not knowing if the next paycheck will still be enough.

Every spike in inflation translates to a daily struggle: less food on the table, more compromises, and a growing sense that survival itself is becoming more expensive.

And yet, at a time when urgency is demanded, what do we see?

Political noise. Posturing. Endless maneuvering.😒

While households tighten their belts, many of our elected legislators seem preoccupied—not with crafting meaningful economic relief—but with the theater of politics. Hearings that generate headlines but not solutions.

Statements that spark division but not direction. It begs the question:

“when the cost of living is rising this fast, where is the legislation that actually helps people live?”🤔

This is not a call for perfection. Economic shocks happen. Inflation rises and falls. But leadership is measured not in calm waters, but in moments like this—when decisive action can soften the blow.

Where are the aggressive measures to stabilize food prices?

Where are the safeguards for wages and vulnerable sectors?

Where is the sense of urgency that matches the people’s reality?

Because right now, the gap between governance and ground reality is widening—and it is the ordinary Filipino who is paying the price.

Are we doomed? Not yet.🙂‍↔️

But if indifference continues to outpace action, if politics continues to overshadow policy, then we are not just facing an economic problem—we are witnessing a failure of leadership.

And that is far more dangerous than inflation.

The Filipino people are not asking for miracles⁉️

They are asking for focus, urgency, and results‼️
