Archie Po, former owner of Asian Spirit who now operates helicopter and aircraft company Lion Air, visited Kidapawan City yesterday for just one purpose – to have a taste of Lechon Manok Pinoy.
Archie, who is an institution in the local aviation industry, came with his friend and fellow pilot, Capt. Louie Imperial, via the General Santos City Airport.
After a quick visit to the Great Arch and Braveheart Wagyu Farm in Polomolok, I brought them to my farm in Paco, Kidapawan City where they saw how I breed and raise the free-range chicken breed Manok Pinoy.
Before I left for Australia last week, Archie, Louie and I met in Manila where he asked me if he could raise Manok Pinoy in a 60-hectare property in Pagsanjan, Laguna.
The property he said will be the site of an airport that he is building for small planes and jets.
Since the airport, including the 1.5-kilometer runway will only utilize about 20-hectares, he wanted to use the remaining portion for free-range chicken farming.
Archie said that more than just his desire to raise and enjoy free-range chicken, he also looks at the business potentials of producing Manok Pinoy for the bigger market of Metro Manila.
As a long-time friend, I am supporting his project and I will be sharing with him Manok Pinoy Breeders.
So, from Kidapawan City, Manok Pinoy goes national!
