Red Lies in a Democratic House.(THE THIRD EYE by Carlo Manubag)

Let us stop pretending. The hysterical outrage of the communist-led Makabayan bloc over the military action against Kabataan Partylist in the mountains of Mindoro only confirms what many Filipinos have long known: communism survives by deception, thrives on chaos, and feeds on the blood of the youth it claims to protect.

For decades, the Makabayan bloc has mastered the art of political camouflage. Kabataan Partylist has never been about empowering the youth—it has been a conveyor belt, funneling idealistic young Filipinos into a violent ideology that has buried more youth leaders than it has ever saved.

Now that the state finally moved, the reds are screaming repression. Bakit? Because for the first time, the mask slipped.

What makes this episode more revolting is the apparent political convenience extended by the Marcos administration to these same forces. For a time, may tahimik na coexistence—isang “you scratch my back, I scratch yours” arrangement—where the Makabayan bloc was tolerated inside the House while conveniently weaponizing its noise against a common enemy: the Dutertes, especially Vice President Sara Duterte.

But communists have no loyalty—only objectives. The moment their recruitment fronts were threatened, they turned on the very administration they had exploited.

Let us be clear: communism is incompatible with democracy. It does not seek reform; it seeks collapse. It enters democratic institutions not to strengthen them, but to rot them from within.

President Marcos now stands at a crossroads. You cannot flirt with subversion and expect stability. Appeasement has failed—again—just as it has failed throughout history.

This is the moment for clarity. You either stand with a Republic governed by laws, institutions, and elections—or you side with an ideology that glorifies armed struggle, silences dissent, and leaves nothing but graves and propaganda in its wake.

The Filipino people deserve leaders who defend democracy, not those who allow its enemies to squat inside its halls. And it has no place in a democratic House of Representathives.
